εἰπάτω· Εἰ διʼ ἐμὲ στάσις καὶ ἔρις καὶ σχίσματα, ἐκχωρῶ, ἄπειμι, οὗ ἐὰν βούλησθε, καὶ ποιῶ τὰ προστασσόμενα ὑπὸ τοῦ πλήθους· μόνον τὸ ποίμνιον τοῦ Χριστοῦ εἰρηνευέτω μετὰ τῶν καθεσταμένων πρεσβυτέρων.

## English translation (Claude)

Let him say: “If faction and strife and schisms have arisen because of me, I will withdraw; I will go away wherever you wish, and I will do what the congregation commands; only let the flock of Christ be at peace with its appointed presbyters.”

- “The congregation” (τοῦ πλήθους): literally “the multitude,” the whole assembly of the church.
