ἀλλʼ ἐπεὶ ἡ ἀγάπη οὐκ ἐᾷ με σιωπᾶν περὶ ὑμῶν, διὰ τοῦτο προέλαβον παρακαλεῖν ὑμᾶς, ὅπως συντρέχητε τῇ γνώμῃ τοῦ θεοῦ. καὶ γὰρ Ἰησοῦς Χριστός, τὸ ἀδιάκριτον ἡμῶν ζῆν, τοῦ πατρὸς ἡ γνώμη, ὡς καὶ οἱ ἐπίσκοποι, οἱ κατὰ τὰ πέρατα ὁρισθέντες, ἐν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ γνώμῃ εἰσίν.

## English translation (Claude)

But since love does not let me be silent about you, I have taken it on myself to urge you to run in harmony with the mind of God. For Jesus Christ, our inseparable life, is the mind of the Father, just as the bishops, who have been appointed throughout the ends of the earth, are in the mind of Jesus Christ.

## Translation notes

- “Mind” (γνώμη): also “purpose, will.”
- “Inseparable life” (τὸ ἀδιάκριτον ἡμῶν ζῆν): the life from which we cannot be separated; perhaps “unwavering.”
