About Sophia Scriptura

Sophia Scriptura is a Greek and Latin combination that speaks to interpretation of biblical texts. It's intended to convey "wisdom from Scripture" by finding the original authorial intent of the writers. It echoes the famous phrase Sola Scriptura, which is Latin for Scripture alone. That phrase is the cry of Protestantism over against assertions that tradition or church authority are effectively at the level of Scriptural authority. However, regardless of one's tradition, finding the original authorial intent of Scripture is immensely valuable for all. The deliverables on this site are designed to aid us in our search for that original, profound, and inspired meaning.

The full text and metadata will be available as downloadable JSON files, with a description of their format and license, so others can reuse them. Downloads will appear here when the first texts are published.
