Τὰ τοίνυν δεκαδύο ζῴδια καὶ οἱ ταῦτα ἐπιόντες ἑπτὰ ἀστέρες τοτὲ μὲν συνοδεύοντες, τοτὲ δὲ ὑπαπαντῶντες, ἀνατέλλοντες δύνοντες * *. οὗτοι, πρὸς τῶν δυνάμεων κινούμενοι, κίνησιν τῆς οὐσίας δηλοῦσιν εἰς γένεσιν τῶν ζῴων καὶ τὴν τῶν περιστάσεων τροπήν.

The twelve signs of the zodiac, then, and the seven planets that pass through them, now traveling together, now opposing one another, rising and setting … These, moved by the powers, indicate the movement of substance toward the birth of living beings and the change of circumstances.
