Traditional ascription rejected: The author is unknown. The only manuscript (destroyed in 1870) placed it among works of Justin Martyr, but the style is not Justin's. The name “Mathetes” sometimes used for the author comes from “a disciple of apostles” in 11.1. Chapters 11–12 probably come from a different work.

καὶ σωτήριον δείκνυται, καὶ ἀπόστολοι συνετίζονται, καὶ τὸ κυρίου πάσχα προέρχεται, καὶ καιροὶ συνάγονται καὶ μετὰ κόσμου ἁρμόζονται, καὶ διδάσκων ἁγίους ὁ λόγος εὐφραίνεται, διʼ οὗ πατὴρ δοξάζεται· ᾧ ἡ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας. ἀμήν.

English · Claude translation

and salvation is shown, and apostles are given understanding, and the Passover of the Lord goes forward, and the seasons are gathered and brought into harmony with the world, and the Word rejoices as he teaches the saints, the Word through whom the Father is glorified; to him be the glory forever. Amen.
