Refutation of All Heresies 10.10.5

Authorship disputed: The work names no author. Book 1 was long printed among Origen's works as the Philosophumena; after books 4–10 were found in a manuscript from Mount Athos (published 1851), it was assigned to Hippolytus, the usual view today, though some scholars ascribe it to another Roman writer of the same circle. Books 2 and 3 are lost, and book 4 lacks its beginning.

Ἃ μὲν γὰρ, φησίν, ἔστιν ἄνωθεν κατενηνεγμένα, ἀνελεύσεται διʼ αὐτοῦ, τὰ δὲ ἐπιβουλεύσαντα τοῖς κατενηνεγμένοις ἀφίεται καὶ κολασθέντα ἀποπέμπεται. Δύο δὲ εἶναι μέρη τὰ σωζόμενα λέγει, τὰ ὑπερκείμενα, ἀπαλλαγέντα τῆς φθορᾶς, τὸ δὲ τρίτον ἀπόλλυσθαι, ὃν κόσμον ἰδικὸν καλεῖ. Ταῦτα καὶ οἱ Περάται.

For the things, he says, that have been brought down from above will go up through him, but the things that plotted against those brought down are let go, and after being punished are sent away.
