Refutation of All Heresies 7.27.5

Authorship disputed: The work names no author. Book 1 was long printed among Origen's works as the Philosophumena; after books 4–10 were found in a manuscript from Mount Athos (published 1851), it was assigned to Hippolytus, the usual view today, though some scholars ascribe it to another Roman writer of the same circle. Books 2 and 3 are lost, and book 4 lacks its beginning.

Summary: Basilides cites “my hour has not yet come” and the Magi's star to show that even Jesus was under appointed times and stars.

English · Claude translation

And that each thing, he says, has its own seasons, the Savior is sufficient witness when he says, “My hour has not yet come,” and so are the Magi who beheld the star; for he too, he says, was subject to the birth of the stars and the return of the seasons, reckoned beforehand in the great heap.
