Refutation of All Heresies 8.15.2
Authorship disputed: The work names no author. Book 1 was long printed among Origen's works as the Philosophumena; after books 4–10 were found in a manuscript from Mount Athos (published 1851), it was assigned to Hippolytus, the usual view today, though some scholars ascribe it to another Roman writer of the same circle. Books 2 and 3 are lost, and book 4 lacks its beginning.
Summary: By examining one's own mind and involuntary feelings, Monoimus says, one finds God within, one and many.
English · Claude translation
‘My God, my mind, my understanding, my soul, my body’; and learn from where come grieving and rejoicing, loving and hating, waking against one's will, sleeping against one's will, becoming angry against one's will, and loving against one's will. And if you examine these things carefully,” he says, “you will find him in yourself, one and many, like that stroke, finding the way out from yourself.”
