First Apology 48

And hear what was said, that our Christ was foretold to heal all diseases and raise the dead. These are the words: “At his coming the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be clear; the blind shall see, and the lepers shall be cleansed, and the dead shall rise and walk.” And that he did these things you can learn from the Acts drawn up under Pontius Pilate. And hear what was said through Isaiah, how it was foretold by the prophetic Spirit that he would be put to death together with those who hope in him. These are the words: “Behold how the righteous one has perished, and no one lays it to heart; and righteous men are taken away, and no one considers. The righteous one has been taken away from the presence of injustice, and he will be in peace; his burial has been taken away from the midst.”
