Ὡς προέφην γάρ, οἰκονομίαι τινὲς μεγάλων μυστηρίων ἐν ἑκάστῃ τινὶ τοιαύτῃ πράξει ἀπετελοῦντο. Ἐν γὰρ τοῖς γάμοις τοῦ Ἰακὼβ τίς οἰκονομία καὶ προκήρυξις ἀπετελεῖτο, ἐρῶ, ὅπως καὶ ἐν τούτοις ἐπιγνῶτε ὅτι οὐδὲν πρὸς τὸ θειωδέστερον, διʼ ὃ ἑκάστη πρᾶξις γέγονεν, ἀπεῖδον ὑμῶν ἀεὶ οἱ διδάσκαλοι, ἀλλὰ πρὸς τὰ χαμαιπετῆ καὶ τὰ διαφθορᾶς μᾶλλον πάθη. Προσέχετε τοιγαροῦν οἷς λέγω.

English · Claude translation

“For, as I said before, certain dispensations of great mysteries were accomplished in each such deed. For I will tell what dispensation and foretelling was accomplished in the marriages of Jacob, so that in these too you may recognize that your teachers never looked to the more divine purpose for which each deed was done, but to groveling and corrupting passions. Attend, then, to what I say.
