English · Claude translation

“For otherwise Isaiah would not have said this: ‘And unless the Lord of hosts had left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom and Gomorrah’; and Ezekiel: ‘Even if Noah and Jacob and Daniel ask for sons or daughters, it shall not be given them’; but neither the father for the son nor the son for the father, but each shall perish in his own sin and each shall be saved by his own righteousness; and again Isaiah: ‘They shall see the limbs of the transgressors; their worm shall not cease, and their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be a spectacle to all flesh.’
