Summary: A Jewish believer who keeps the law will be saved, Justin thinks, so long as he does not impose it on Gentile believers.

Καὶ ὁ Τρύφων πάλιν· Ἐὰν δέ τις, εἰδὼς ὅτι ταῦτα οὕτως ἔχει, μετὰ τοῦ καὶ τοῦτον εἶναι τὸν Χριστὸν ἐπίστασθαι δηλονότι καὶ πεπιστευκέναι καὶ πείθεσθαι αὐτῷ, βούλεται καὶ ταῦτα φυλάσσειν, σωθήσεται; ἐπυνθάνετο. Κἀγώ· Ὡς μὲν ἐμοὶ δοκεῖ, ὦ Τρύφων, λέγω ὅτι σωθήσεται ὁ τοιοῦτος, ἐὰν μὴ τοὺς ἄλλους ἀνθρώπους, λέγω δὲ τοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν ἐθνῶν διὰ τοῦ Χριστοῦ ἀπὸ τῆς πλάνης περιτμηθέντας, ἐκ παντὸς πείθειν ἀγωνίζηται ταὐτὰ αὐτῷ φυλάσσειν, λέγων οὐ σωθήσεσθαι αὐτοὺς ἐὰν μὴ ταῦτα φυλάξωσιν, ὁποῖον ἐν ἀρχῇ τῶν λόγων καὶ σὺ ἔπραττες, ἀποφαινόμενος οὐ σωθήσεσθαί με ἐὰν μὴ ταῦτα φυλάξω.
English · Claude translation
And Trypho again asked, “But if someone, knowing that these things are so, and clearly knowing too that this is the Christ, and having believed and obeying him, wishes to keep these things as well, will he be saved?” And I said, “In my opinion, Trypho, I say that such a man will be saved, if he does not strive in every way to persuade other men, I mean those from the nations who have been circumcised from error through Christ, to keep the same things as he, saying that they will not be saved unless they keep them; as you too did at the beginning of our discussion, declaring that I would not be saved unless I kept these things.”
