Κἀγὼ πάλιν· Ἤδη μέντοι, ὦ Τρύφων, ἀποδείξω ὅτι πρὸς τῇ Μωσέως ὀπτασίᾳ αὐτὸς οὗτος μόνος, καὶ ἄγγελος καλούμενος καὶ θεὸς ὑπάρχων, ὤφθη καὶ προσωμίλησε τῷ Μωσεῖ. Οὕτως γὰρ ἔφη ὁ λόγος· Ὤφθη δὲ αὐτῷ ἄγγελος κυρίου ἐν πυρὶ φλογὸς ἐκ βάτου· καὶ ὁρᾷ ὅτι ὁ βάτος καίεται πυρί, ὁ δὲ βάτος οὐ κατεκαίετο. Ὁ δὲ Μωσῆς εἶπε· Παρελθὼν ὄψομαι τὸ ὅραμα τοῦτο τὸ μέγα, ὅτι οὐ κατακαίεται ὁ βάτος. Ὡς δʼ εἶδε κύριος ὅτι προσάγει ἰδεῖν, ἐκάλεσεν αὐτὸν κύριος ἐκ τῆς βάτου.

And I again said, “Now, Trypho, I will prove that in the vision of Moses this same one alone, who is called Angel and is God, appeared and spoke to Moses. For the word says thus: ‘And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the bush; and he sees that the bush is burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. And Moses said: I will go over and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned up. And when the Lord saw that he was coming near to see, the Lord called him from the bush.’
