English · Claude translation

“That he is to be worshiped, and is God and Christ, attested by the one who made these things, these words too plainly indicate. And that the word of God speaks to those who believe in him, as being one soul and one synagogue and one church, as to a daughter, to the church which came into being from his name and shares in his name (for we are all called Christians), the words likewise plainly proclaim, teaching us also to forget our old ancestral customs, speaking thus: ‘Hear, O daughter, and see, and incline your ear, and forget your people and your father's house; and the king shall desire your beauty, for he is your lord, and you shall worship him.’
