Καὶ ὁ Τρύφων· Πῶς τοῦτο δυνάμεθα εἶναι ὁμολογῆσαι, ὁπότε, εἰ καὶ ἄλλος τίς ἐστι πλὴν τοῦ πατρὸς μόνου, τὴν τοσαύτην ζήτησιν ἐποιησάμεθα; Κἀγὼ πάλιν· Ἀναγκαῖόν ἐστι καὶ ταῦτα ὑμᾶς ἐρωτῆσαι, ὅπως γνῶ μήτι ἄλλο φρονεῖτε παρʼ ἃ τέως ὡμολογήσατε. Κἀκεῖνος· Οὔ, ἄνθρωπε, ἔφη. Κἀγὼ πάλιν· Ὑμῶν οὖν ταῦτα ἀληθῶς συντιθεμένων καὶ τοῦ λόγου λέγοντος· Τὴν γενεὰν αὐτοῦ τίς διηγήσεται; οὐκ ἤδη καὶ νοεῖν ὀφείλετε ὅτι οὐκ ἔστι γένους ἀνθρώπου σπέρμα;
