καὶ τούτου μέγα σημεῖον ὃν αὐτὸς ἐγέννησεν ἐξ αὑτοῦ· καὶ ὁ τεχθεὶς ἐξ ἀγάπης καρπὸς ἀγάπη. διὰ τοῦτο καὶ αὐτὸς κατῆλθε. διὰ τοῦτο ἄνθρωπον ἐνέδυ. διὰ τοῦτο τὰ ἀνθρώπων ἑκὼν ἔπαθεν. ἵνα πρὸς τὴν ἡμετέραν ἀσθένειαν οὓς ἠγάπησε μετρηθεὶς ἡμᾶς πρὸς τὴν ἑαυτοῦ δύναμιν ἀντιμετρήσῃ.

And a great sign of this is the one whom he begot from himself; and the fruit born of love is love. For this he came down; for this he put on man; for this he willingly suffered what belongs to men, so that, having been measured to the weakness of us whom he loved, he might measure us in return to his own power.
