Summary: Peter says they have left everything; Jesus promises a hundredfold now, with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come.

›ἴδε ἡμεῖς ἀφήκαμεν πάντα καὶ ἠκολουθήσαμέν σοι.‹ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς [λέγγει]·› ἀμὴν ὑμῖν λέγω, ὃς ἂν ἀφῇ τὰ ἴδια καὶ γονεῖς καὶ ἀδελφοὺς καὶ χρήματα ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ καὶ ἕνεκεν τοῦ εὐαγγελίου. ἀπολήψεται ἑκατονταπλασίονα. νῦν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ τούτῳ ἀγροὺς καὶ χρήματα καὶ οἰκίας καὶ ἀδελφοὺς ἔχειν μετὰ διωγμὼν εἰς ποῦ· ἐν δὲ τῷ ἐρχομένῳ ζωή[ν] ἐστιν αἰώνιος. [ἐν δὲ] ἔσονται οἱ πρῶτοι ἔσχατοι καὶ οἱ ἔσχατοι πρῶτοι.«
English · Claude translation
‘See, we have left everything and followed you.’ And Jesus answered, ‘Truly I say to you, whoever leaves his own possessions, and parents, and brothers, and riches for my sake and for the sake of the gospel will receive a hundredfold. Now in this time, to have fields and riches and houses and brothers with persecutions—to what end? But in the age to come there is eternal life. And the first will be last, and the last first.’”
