After these, Gideon, son of Joash, of the tribe of Manasseh, marching out with three hundred men and destroying a hundred and twenty thousand of them, ruled forty years. After him his son Abimelech, three years. Boleas (that is, Tola), son of Bedan, son of Charran, of the tribe of Ephraim, succeeded him, ruling twenty-three years. After him the people, sinning again, were handed over to the Ammonites for eighteen years.
